You don’t have to drive all the way out east to enjoy some classic fall fun! Two Long Island favorites are offering plenty of ways to celebrate the season.
At
White Post Farms in Melville, families can feed animals, pick pumpkins, take pony rides, and explore a dinosaur exhibit. Visitors can also meet some of the farm’s famous residents, including Oliver the giraffe. “There’s a lot of fun stuff to do at the farm, we’re open year-round,” said Lindsay Canniff, a party hostess at White Post Farms.
At
Jericho Cider Mill, visitors can browse large bins of apples, grab a coffee and enjoy seasonal treats. The cider is made fresh on-site by pressing apples. “This is an experience that people come here year after year for over 206 years,” said owner Ted Ketsoglou. “We actually manufacture the cider here, we squeeze the apples, we don’t use any preservatives, never have,” Ketsoglou added.
From pumpkin patch visits to fresh apple cider, these local spots offer a taste of fall without the long drive east.
